**********Stormbreaker**********

The 10th chapter in this book is an exciting part of the book. This is the part in the book when Alex is free from Sayle Interprises. He goes for a walk down in Port Tallon, ordered by Naida Vole. Then as Alex goes for a walk he follows a path into the deep long grass taller then him. Then as he keeps walking he gets trapped in a cage. Oh no to Alex. Then as Alex hears an engine running he quickly stops and thinks of a way to get. Free at last. Alex runs and sees that there are 2 quad bikes after him. He keeps running and running until the quads give up. No is the answer to the quad bikers as they keep trying to get rid of Alex as ordered. Then as Alex thought of a brilliant plan he runs to the edge of the cliff full of grass and waits until the quad bikes find him. Finally, a bike sees Alex trapped edge of the cliff and races to run him down the cliff. BANG!!! Alex quickly moves out of the way and lets the biker fall into mid air. Alex escapes one of the quad bikers. Alex then finds his way out of the long grass and escapes from the quad biker. Surprise to Alex as the other quad biker is right in front of him. Alex was thinking of running right up to him and either crash or jump out of the way. Alex was thinking, run right up to him then jump out of the way. Alex was running his fastest, then the quad biker quickly turned as Alex was a millimetre away from the quad. The quad spins out of control and crashes. It was time to see who was really trying to kill Alex. He was suspecting Yassen Gregorovich, but what a lucky surprise. It wasn't

The 4th chapter, "So what do you say?," is about the choice Alex will have to make. He is called in with Alan Blunt, for lunch, and seems curious of what would happen to him. However, he spots a lady, Mrs Jones, joining them. There's nerves in the air, while Alex is eating, and theres nothing in his head, when Blunt starts speaking. He talks about Herold Sayle and his Interprises. In no time, Blunt asks Alex a question. To join in with them, as a young spy. They will need him to go to Sayle Interprises and get as much dirty dish or detail. Its a hard decision for Alex, but the CIA really need his help. Unortunetly, first answer is no, but in a few minutes, he's back in the game. Yes is answer. Will he be able to find as much information, before its over? Its difficult, but it's worth a try.

The 7th chapter in this exciting book starts of with Alex going to Port Tallon starting his mission. He stops at Sayle Interprises, very strange home. Then as Alex walked in he saw this massive tank you could fit a shark in. Then a strange surprise popped up in his face looking directly at him, a jellyfish. As Herod Sayle crept up behind him Alex turned around and saw him. Alex And Mr. Sayle as he would say sat down had something to eat and talked about the three days Alex was going to do at Sayle Interprises. The first day was trying out the Stormbreaker computer that was going to be released on the 1st of April Fools day. The next two days Alex could relax for the time. The reason Alex was sent to Port Tallon was to find out why Ian Rider died and what is going on with Sayle Interprises. The butler Mr. Grin showed up with a never ending smile all because a knife trick went wrong. He scared Alex the first time he saw but then Alex got used to seeing the smile for the next three days. The three days in Port Tallon was going to be an interesting experience for Alex Rider. What is going to happen next???!!!

chapter 5-7

Stanley is assigned to Tent D and meets one of his group's counselors, Mr. Pendanski, who tells him that Mr. Sir isn't really as bad as he seems. It's just that he's grumpy since he stopped smoking. Mr. Pendanski explains to Stanley that "there's really one rule at Camp Green Lake: Don't upset the Warden." Mr. Pendanski seems good-hearted, always talking about rehabilitating the boys into "useful and hardworking members of society." Mr. Pedanski introduces Stanley to the other boys, Rex and Alan, known as X-Ray and Squid. Both of these boys ask what happened to Barf Bag, the boy who was in their tent before Stanley. Mr. Pendanski informs them that "Lewis" won't be returning since he's still in the hospital.BRIAN

The 5th chapter in this book is when Alex starts his training with other people. His instrustor for the process was as mean as you could imagine. He would push Alex around until he got something done or right. The instructor was ordered to teach Alex impossible stunts in only 10 days. The instructor would yell at Alex to try harder and to try get the stunt right. In 10 days Alex sort of got the stunt right. It was time to put his training to the test. The next day Alex and a few of his fellow mates training with him was to get from one side of the stunt house to the other. Alex didn't run the first few tries, because the intructor was scared of him dealing with a gun. Then it was Alex's turn. He followed his four mates Wolf, Fox, Eagle and Snake through the stunt house so he wouldn't do anything wrong. The stunt house was full of booby traps around all floors and walls along with the ceilings. Alex did really well in the stunt house but he didn't make it all the way with his fellow mates along with him.

His eyes start watering from the diesel fumes. He was beginning to regret coming there, but then he saw it. His uncles BMW was parked a few metres away seperated from the other cars. Down he came, and closer he went to his uncles car. Alex Rider smiled with glee. Finally!

Stormbreaker!!!

The first chapter Funeral Voices is amazing. It starts of the story with some hearts broken, but then the action happens. A young boy named Alex Rider at the age of 14 wanted to be just like his uncle, Ian Rider. Why? Well, Ian Rider loved to explore the world. He is a mysterious man. He looks things up and lets no one see. He is also all about hygiene and safety. One day Ian Rider died in a car accident. He wasn't wearing his seat belt, the police recorded. That had Alex thinking, Ian always had his seat belt on even if it was just a drive around the corner. Why had the police lye. When the funeral came around, a black car pulled up. Three men wearing the same clothes, glasses, shoes and mostly everything that was the same. They had all said they worked with Ian at the bank as bank managers, but Alex had never seen them before. Alex thought that they looked suspicious, in the way they talked, walked and and left without a word. He thought that having Ian dead, his life had changed and gone up a whole new level in his life.

Fish in the Deep Blue Sea!!!

It was one of those days, for us to work…and work. But today was no ordinary day. An art teacher had just stormed in class, with a whole pile of art materials in her hands. Her black high heeled boots and her mysterious black coat. We just knew, she was mysterious indeed. For the task she had given us, was forced to be completed in one day. Now the nightmare had just begun.

These were the steps we followed all through the day:

STEP 1:
We drafted out two copies of ideas for our artwork. We had drawn a mixture of seaweed and fish. Followed by that, we drew patterns inside the fish, so that the fish could stand out. With the seaweed, we wildly drew a combination of seaweed, instead of making it straight and perfect.

STEP 2:
Next we painted our background using a light blue water colour. While it was dry we drew our wild seaweed over the background. It was like drawing different, divine dark and light, coloured seaweed. Soon we were able to use a mixture of green paint so that we could colour our tangled up seaweed. We used different colours to create green and we also discovered many ways to make it.

STEP 3: Thirdly we drew our slimy fish swimming in all directions you could ever imagine. There were many different fish, although we were only able to draw three. We drew there shape and size and designs as well, of the shimmy, slimy fish.

STEP 4: Fourthly we used some very sticky gello paint, so our fish can stand out to the world. Now we were told to be careful with the paint, because it doesn’t come of clothes. Back to the paint, we coated the fish 3 times so it turns out smooth and it looks like clear paper.

STEP 5: Later on, we painted our fish using a pallet full of paint, along with some white compound to make the paint lighter and more useful. Two of our fish were coloured with the same three colours, and the other fish was jumbled up with several different colours.

STEP 6: Sixthly, we used some sketching tools to sketch in our designs. Our designs were told be like the fish we drew from an art book. Our fish’s eyes were supposed to be perfect, not like kiddies eyes. Sketching our designs was told to be at our best ability, like it had to be perfect. ‘PERFECTION!!’

STEP 7: Lastly for our masterpieces to be completed we went over our seaweed with some pastel. We used different light and dark colours to form our seaweed in our shiniest way we could.

Now this was an amazing experience learning how to create a masterpiece in a day. Room 5 learnt how to use gello and different colours to form a combination of the colour green. We hope to see another art teacher and have this much fun in a day again.

Fruit in Schools

Dear Honourable Tony Ryall,

As a student I feel that we need all the fruit that we are able to eat, as we need all the energy and concentration in our every day lives.

One minute I am eating the juicy fruit the next, I am fighting to keep it, and I really feel confused.

I strongly believe that fruit in schools is a very good solution to keeping students healthy. To take fruit in schools away will have every body back to their unhealthy lives. There are a lot of reasons to not banning or taking away fruit in schools.

Firstly, fruit in schools keep us healthy.
Secondly, it gives us energy to keep us up in our every day lives.
Thirdly, it makes us concentrate each day longer and smarter.
Fourthly, it fills us up.
…….And last but not least, it gives every one a chance to try a variety of fruits.

I know that they talk about people getting unhealthy and to fat, but when you say you are going to ban fruit, you are just saying that you don’t care.

I don’t speak for my self when I say that fruit in schools is beautiful, juicy, and sweet, but I know that not only I will feel sad and angry when you take away “Fruit in Schools”.
So Tony Ryall I want you to think about your choice before pulling fruit out of happy children’s hands.

From your unhappy St Therese student.

Yours Sincerely

John Tupouniua

Basketball here and Basketball there!!!

Thursday. It was a cold morning. Crashing and bashing, trees colliding. It was like a storm emerging. Thursday the 15th , 9:00am our basket ball instructor still wasn't here. 9:30am, we heard an engine running, taps on the concrete floor and basketball bounces rebounding against it. Room 5 just knew it was time to go. Stop working, stop talking, it's time to play. As the wind forced us into the hall we walked in surprisingly looking around at the 4 basketballs in the bag and the man standing up straight talking to us.

Dribbling the ball up and down the St Therese Hall was harder then you think. Then cam defence, a game a board. It was all so confusing learning everything at once, I couldn't think straight, my mind was in a jumbled up basketball world.
What am I going to do?

"Hey Tai!"
Tai was our basketball instructor. We split into 2 groups and headed of to different places. My group learnt a combination of different techniques we can use in basketball, like dribbling, the jumpshot step and shooting. These three steps are very simple which we can improve on. Just remember shooting is all about the aim. Aim adn shoot. Learning basketball is fun adn we learnt alot of new things.

"Come on guys, GAME TIME!!!"

As we learnt how to dribble and shoot it was time to put our cool learning to the test. It wasn't a real game, but it was a cool practise game. Learning things is fun and also enjoyable. I learnt how to jumpshot, dribble and shoot in a basketball. It's all about thinking how you can get around the ball. My opinion on basketball is that it's fun and I can learn something from it.

"BASKETBALL IS FUN!!!"

WHAT. The exact word kept screaming in my head non stop. The two experts told us some facts that kept me going. I was quite sad when she told us that they build tunnels with there muscles. Another interesting part was when we went in a little carriage about 600 mm, the hard thing was when we had to fit in 4 people in each carriage, on either side there was a map of where we were going. We went into our first tunnel; it was so dark it looked like the only thing that revolved around us was only black paper.

Next we saw some awesome views from out inside our carriage. Later after that we saw some cave wetas in side the tunnels, it was very close to the tunnel side because it was a small tunnel, what do you expect, its small and it was made by hand. Back to talking about the rain forest. The trip got better and better with the exiting history out in the forest. Drip drop as we walked out side of the carriage, we walked to a long hill that went side to side curve to curve it was really fun having a nice walk with my friend.
When we got there we saw the ignoramus dam it was so fascinating and very high from the dam.
Later we went back to the train and got our bags and had a feed, when we finished we went back and saw some
Lovely bright glow worms. Off we went off the train and walked to the bus and went back to school.

A Day in the Gymnasium!!!

Ka BOOM was the music to my ears when I heard about this amazing opportunity of going to this most wonderful gymnasium in the world. So I woke up early one morning and started swifting my way through a crowd and diving into the bus like a champion swimmer and also got my way through to the middle of the bus, but I nearly collapsed on the ground when I was saved by a blue chair which my boss tom was sitting on, so I sat next to him and talked about our most thrilling gymnasium. As the bus went on driving I stared out at the window to look at the beautiful world, suddenly tom poked me on my shoulder and said lets have a staring contest so we did, after that soaring game my eyes were going to rip but after for a while it weird out.

When the bus was stopping one of the teachers said some rules before going of the bus. One of the rules I remember was saying thank-you to the bus driver before getting off the bus. As we came out a lovely women offered us a cosy department in the inside of the gymnasium. When we entered the place, we could see the other class from St Therese School practicing there stuns but we had to move on. After a while another lady came and told us that it was our turn to come inside and finally it was the moment I’ve been waiting for. As the doors opened slowing, my eyes were glowing with excitement then we entered inside and it smelled like fresh air.

Then I explored like a genius hopping up and down. After my exploring time we had to get warmed up so that we can not have soar mussels or crams. Then when we were finished we played a wild game where every one went wild like animals in the jungle. After that tiring game we were put in groups of numbers. When we were put in groups we had activities to follow. Our first activity was trampoline, we were first on it and I was surprised as we started we had to jump on our knees, but it was a little bit tough for a 9 year old boy/girl but I handled it perfectly. After that we had a challenge of who can do the least jump from the beginning to the end, and the record was 6 made by John Tupouniua.

Then we moved on to the next activity. On the next activity we had to do cartwheels all the way to the end and back, we had to do it 5 times. When we were finished my arms were going to rip apart like a person pulling of someone arms. Next we were sent to go to the next activity which was called the foam pit. When I saw it, it looked easy but trust me you won’t want to try it, because it is another ripping experience but instead of ripping your arms it rips your legs it is so deep that you can drown to the bottom. Then after we went to the second to last activity which I call hanging dead, on this activity we had to hang on it the longest and close our eyes, it really is fun because you can swing the whole way through the session, while I was swinging a lady called out last activity which meant go to the last activity.

On the activity we had to do stuns on squared poles and the following instruction given by the lady who was running the activity and be ballerinas on it. After it we went back on the mat where we were doing our stretches and stared swinging the parachute. Then when we were done one of the students from St Therese stood up and said a very big thank-you to the leaders. Then we went back to school with the bus.

A Moari Understanding!!!

"Tahi Rua Toru Wha!"
Te Ao Kori is so much enthusiastic fun. It includes string games, hand games, stick games, knuckle bones, elastics and the poi. Room 5 and 6 girls do Te Ao Kori on a Monday and Friday afternoon, from 2 till 3pm. We started Te Ao Kori toward the end of term 2 and to the beginning of term 3 to the seventh week. When I first heard that we were doing fantastic Moari games, I was so excited, I couldn't stop thinking about how much fun I would have. I think that Te Ao Kori is a Moari understanding of how the Moari children played back in the past and now in the present.

The hand games we played were so fun. The games were Hipitoitoi, which was the easiest game, then Hei Tama Tu Tama, which was the is the easiest game, and lastly Whakaropiropi Ai, which is the hardest gmae to remember. Every single girl from rooms 5 and 6 that did the hand games had buckets and buckets full of fun. When everyone felt comfortable about battling against each other, the games had just began. The girls were racing for gold in the end not caring if one of their team mates won. This lesson proberly went on for 2 enjoyable days full of laughter. My friends and I were ready to compete. Our little fingers and thumbs were racing for gold, before they exploded with fireworks spelling “I WON!!!”

Now the stick games were a bit tricky. As we partnered up with a study buddy and we had to make up our own original rhythm to a Pacific Maori song. It was so much fun watching other people muck up their routine. Even though they are embarrassing themselves. As the laughter in the room made by rooms 5 and 6 girls uplifted through the roof. It exploded the top of the building. “WOW!!” this lesson was combined with other Maori games. I think the stick games went on for 3 amazing experiencing weeks alone. Another activity was the string games. The
string games were the trickiest. Why is it so hard to get a loop over knot? So confusing and frustrating. Any ways rooms 5 and 6 girls always mucked up, but they never gave up hope. We kept on trying until we made something. This fantastic lesson went on for about 2 cool weeks. These 3 games so far are so much fun. It brings out the inner talent in children’s hidden body.

All right now it’s the knucklebones. This is my personal favourite. I was just getting ready to face the champion Christina. I was felling more and more confident as I practised night and day. Everyone was filled with endless joy, as they played. Knucklebones were usually
played with medium sized rocks. Then as somebody invented hard sliver knucklebones most people don’t play with rocks. This lesson was also mixed in with other games. It went on for maybe 4 or more weeks other cool games.

Now the lucky last 2 games, are the elastics and the poi. These 2 games were outgoing and enthusiastic. The elastics were a bit hard, because we had to stretch. This game tests your flexibility and strength. Flexibility for how high we can kick our legs. Our strength
is to see if we are strong enough to jump real high. This lesson only went on for a day. I don’t know why this is relevant to Te Ao Kori but it was loads of fun. Now lastly, the poi. I didn’t do the poi but I knew it was going to be so much fun because of when people walked into
the room smiling and laughing. The poi was also mixed with other games, but it went on for only 3 weeks. I wish I could have had the chance to do the poi, because then I would be laughing and laughing my heart out.

These six games are all apart of Te Ao Kori. I wish the entire school
could do Te Ao Kori, so they can see how much fun it is. Next Term or year I would like to do Te Ao Kori again. I had so much fun this past term learning how Maori people use to play back then and now.

Rainforest Express

Freezing! Woweez!! The Intermediate department blasted off to the Rainforest Express, by bus. Because the weather was unbelievably freezing, we were able to bring with us warm and cosy clothes. As we left to catch the massive bus, I felt the coldness all ready. It was like the breeze touching my cheek with sprinkles of dust. While everyone hopped into the bus, the volume increased more as we were chattering about how extreme the Rainforest Express would be.

As we arrived at the Waitakere Rangers, I was smiling with joy because of how beautiful the veiw was. I had never seen such an astonishing veiw that (Auckland) New Zealand had.
Swishhhhhhh... Soon, the door of the bus had soon shut, as we jumped out of it. When we reached the ground, it was as mucky as coloured paint. Finally, we gathered together in the reception, where we met Kathy and Andy, who were the two train drivers, and our tour guides. Kathy told us many facts about the dams, the (Rainforest Express) train, the tunnels, and especially the water supplies.

Chugger... Chugger... ChooChoo...
Suddenly the train had budged. As we went into the magnificent tunnels, we were amazed by the fascinating wetas, but we weren't amazed by the frightning spiders, because of how large they were. Going into the tunnels was just like going into my own nightmare.

Wow...
As we chugged along the bridge, we stopped to see the prettiest veiw, and it was a few metres down from where we were. We also had to stop to take photos of us in the train and of the beautiful veiw.
Suddenly, we lurched again. We had then reached another tunnel where we were able to spot a lot of bright glow worms.

Soon, we had reached the eating area, but it wasn’t time to eat yet. We were there to have a look at the massive dam. It was a very long way to get to the dam, but that was okay for us to do some excising. As we were at the dam, we could see the water, a lot of houses, and how high we were compared to how low it was on the ground.

Finally, we met together at the eating area, where we had to eat, obviously.
Then it was time to go back to school. We had to reverse back to the same place that we were, a few hours ago, which was the reception, of course.

Yeah!!
As we all came back to School, we all told everyone how cool that the Waitakere Rangers was, and that it was a great opportunity for us to be there. I loved that trip. One day I’ll be their, with my family or with my friends.
